Avathon, formerly known as SparkCognition, has launched an AI platform designed to address top industrial challenges such as maximizing uptime for capital-intensive assets and ensuring worker safety in industrial environments. Avathon claims that through a system-level approach, its platform can provide solutions for the world’s most critical and complex infrastructures.
“Avathon is driven by a bold vision and significant investment into solutions addressing comprehensive industrial challenges, including energy transition towards renewable sources,” said Lord John Browne, former Group CEO of BP plc and Chairman of Avathon’s Board. “The Avathon platform aims to support global industry in transitioning from traditional infrastructure to next-generation automation and sustainability.”
Avathon states that it is leveraging over a decade’s worth of experience with AI-driven solutions to serve multiple industries. One key focus area for the Avathon Industrial AI Platform is automated warehouses, where software can be used for continuous equipment monitoring, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance.
To further develop this platform and expand its reach, Avathon has decided to relocate its headquarters from Austin, Texas, to Silicon Valley. The company believes that this move will enable it to tap into the region’s renowned innovation ecosystem.
John Chambers, founder and CEO of JC2 Ventures, an advisor to Avathon, and former long-term CEO of Cisco Systems, commented: “Innovation is at the core of what Avathon does. They have created a remarkable technology platform that will transform how complex assets are built, operated, and maintained, ensuring resilience and adaptability in some of the world’s most critical systems.”
By serving some of the largest companies globally, Avathon has become a unicorn startup. Its diverse customer base includes oil and gas giants, aerospace OEMs, global retailers, consumer goods manufacturers, and leading renewable energy operators.
Avathon CEO Pervinder Johar is focused on providing industrial enterprises with a technology platform that can grow alongside their businesses for decades to come.
Johar stated: “As we move towards full automation, our goal is to support key players in the global economy over the next 50 years.” He added, “We are relocating our headquarters to Silicon Valley because it provides us with an ideal environment for future growth; the speed of innovation, a similar company ecosystem, and talent—these are all unique factors that ensure we can meet the growing demands of our customer list.”
“While our home is now in the Bay Area,” he continued, “we remain excited about continuing to nurture exceptional engineering talent and expand our presence in the Austin region.”
