Bain Capital acquires SupplyOn, connects 140,000+ suppliers

According to www.baincapital.com, Bain Capital has agreed to acquire SupplyOn — a leading European cloud-based supply chain collaboration platform — from its shareholders AUMOVIO, Bosch, Schaeffler, and ZF. The transaction, announced on July 20, 2026, is led by Bain Capital’s Tech Opportunities business in Europe and remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

Platform Scale and Sector Reach

SupplyOn operates a unified digital platform serving complex manufacturing sectors across Europe, including automotive, aerospace and defense, railway, and other advanced industrial verticals. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Hallbergmoos near Munich, the company connects more than 200 large manufacturers and tier-1 suppliers with a network of 140,000+ suppliers globally. Its technology enables end-to-end digital collaboration across sourcing, purchasing, quality management, logistics, invoicing, and ESG compliance — all within a single integrated environment.

Strategic Rationale and Growth Priorities

Bain Capital’s investment reflects both the underpenetrated state of supply chain digitalization in complex manufacturing and the platform’s entrenched operational role. As noted in the announcement, European supply chain digitalization remains significantly underpenetrated, especially where multi-tier coordination is critical to production continuity amid rising complexity. Bain Capital will support SupplyOn’s next growth phase by accelerating product investment — including embedding new AI capabilities — and expanding sales and marketing efforts, particularly in the defense sector where SupplyOn currently maintains a developing footprint.

Leadership and Governance Commitments

The firm has committed to preserving SupplyOn’s European operational footprint, data residency, and governance structure — key assurances for customers reliant on sovereign, compliant infrastructure. James Stevens, a Partner on Bain Capital’s Tech Opportunities team, emphasized SupplyOn’s differentiated position:

“SupplyOn represents a rare combination of product quality, network strength, high customer advocacy and market leadership in supply chain coordination across Europe.” — James Stevens, Partner, Bain Capital Tech Opportunities

Dr. Michael Siefke, Partner and Chair of Europe Private Equity at Bain Capital, underscored strategic alignment:

“SupplyOn builds on our long-standing footprint in Europe and Germany specifically. Through our industrials portfolio we are customers of SupplyOn and understand the critical role it plays.” — Dr. Michael Siefke, Partner and Chair of Europe Private Equity, Bain Capital

Markus Quicken, CEO of SupplyOn, affirmed continuity and ambition:

“We are pleased to partner with Bain Capital, which shares our long-term vision for SupplyOn as a strategic asset in the supply chain ecosystem across Europe.” — Markus Quicken, CEO, SupplyOn

Corporate Context and Financial Disclosure

Bain Capital, founded in 1984, manages approximately $225 billion in assets across five focus areas: Private Equity, Growth & Venture, Capital Solutions, Credit & Capital Markets, and Real Assets. It maintains 24 offices on four continents and employs more than 2,000 people. SupplyOn’s acquisition marks another addition to Bain Capital’s industrials and technology portfolio in Europe — a region where the firm has deep, longstanding relationships with major industrial stakeholders. Notably, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SupplyOn’s established customer base, embedded platform functionality, and broad network reach position it to capitalize on growing demand for structured, compliant, and AI-enhanced supply chain collaboration — especially in regulated, high-complexity sectors such as aerospace and defense.
