G-Group launches $300M AI-ready data center in Hanoi

According to e.vnexpress.net, G-Group Technology Corporation has received an Investment Registration Certificate for G-Campus — a nearly US$300 million AI-ready digital infrastructure project to be built at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi, Vietnam.

G-Campus: Scale, Scope, and Strategic Location

The project carries a total investment of more than VND7.575 trillion (approximately US$300 million) and will occupy over 38,000 square meters within Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park — Vietnam’s largest high-tech industrial zone, located approximately 30 kilometers west of central Hanoi. The campus is scheduled for development under the framework of the Hanoi Capital master plan with a 100-year vision, announced alongside the 2026 investment promotion initiative. Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Truong Viet Dung attended the MoU signing ceremony, underscoring governmental prioritization of the initiative.

Four-Facility Architecture with AI-Centric Design

G-Campus comprises four distinct facilities. Two buildings will house research and development labs focused on artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), high-performance computing (HPC), and cybersecurity. The remaining two facilities will host a Tier III AI-ready data center engineered specifically for AI training, inference, and HPC workloads. The first phase will deliver 20 MW of IT capacity using liquid-cooling technology; upon full completion, total capacity is expected to reach 30 MW. This infrastructure is designed to serve government agencies, domestic enterprises, and international clients with cloud services, AI computing, HPC, and sovereign digital infrastructure.

Tripartite Partnership Driving Implementation

The project is being developed in collaboration with OTech, the technology services and digital transformation arm of Oman’s Omantel Group. Alongside the investment approval, G-Group signed a cooperation agreement with both the Hanoi People’s Committee and OTech. Under the agreement, the Hanoi People’s Committee will facilitate regulatory approvals and land access; OTech will contribute expertise in operating national-scale AI-ready data centers, sovereign cloud platforms, and technology architecture; and G-Group will manage project investment, local development, financing, and day-to-day operations. According to the company, the partnership aims to support long-term AI infrastructure development and deepen bilateral technology cooperation between Vietnam and Oman.

Alignment with National Digital Priorities

G-Group states that G-Campus directly supports Hanoi’s strategic objectives to expand AI adoption, accelerate digital transformation across public services, and advance smart governance. Ha Trung Kien, vice chairman of G-Group, emphasized the forward-looking design of the campus:

“The campus was designed to support future advances in AI and computing while strengthening Vietnam’s digital capabilities through international collaboration.” — Ha Trung Kien, vice chairman of G-Group

The initiative also reinforces Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park’s role as Vietnam’s primary technology and innovation hub — a status formalized in Vietnam’s National Digital Transformation Program targeting 2025 milestones for AI infrastructure deployment and sovereign cloud readiness.
