MoviĜo Launches Ŝharko5 AMR Platform for Warehouse Automation

According to roboticsandautomationnews.com, MoviĜo Robotics has launched the Ŝharko5 Technology Platform, a new modular autonomous mobile robot (AMR) system designed for production logistics across food, pharmaceutical, automotive, and print industries.

Modular Design Enables Carrier-Specific Adaptation

The platform features a standardized front section housing core technology components and a configurable rear lifting unit. This modular architecture allows seamless adaptation to diverse carriers—including europallets, US Postal pallets, half-euro pallets, dollies, trolleys, carts, and paper rolls—without requiring hardware redesign or added cost.

New Robot Variants Target Industry-Specific Loads

  • Ŝharko5FP (Full Pallet): omnidirectional AMR engineered for europallets and US Postal pallets
  • Ŝharko5SP (Small Pallet): omnidirectional AMR optimized for half-euro pallets
  • Ŝharko5RT (Roll Transporter): purpose-built for paper rolls (reels) in print shops

Fleet Management Software Integrates Heterogeneous Robots

The platform includes fleet management and process software capable of orchestrating multiple robot types on a single map. Using vision technology, the software identifies carrier types in real time and dispatches the appropriate robot: for example, assigning the Ŝharko5FP for euro-pallet transport and the Ŝharko5RT for paper roll handling.

Commercial Deployment and Strategic Partnerships

Solutions for the print industry are now available as part of the HP Indigo portfolio. Production logistics solutions for other sectors remain available directly through MoviĜo Robotics. Diego Diaz, global product manager autonomous press and robotics at HP Indigo, states:

“As HP is now scaling MoviĜo Robotics’ Print Industry solutions worldwide, having a standardized technology platform will allow for customized solutions at our clients, as well as simplify implementation, service and support.”

Paul van der Hulst, CEO of MoviĜo Robotics, adds:

“We are dedicated to deliver a complete solution for production logistics. The Ŝharko5 Technology Platform allows us to customize the actual robot part of our solution at no additional costs. This allows us to offer customer specific solutions, for a production environment that doesn’t always use standardized carriers.”

For supply chain professionals, this launch signals a shift toward adaptable, carrier-agnostic AMR deployment—particularly valuable in mixed-load facilities where standardization is limited. Unlike legacy systems requiring fixed infrastructure or uniform palletization, the Ŝharko5 platform reduces integration friction and supports phased automation rollouts across non-uniform operational environments. Its vision-based carrier recognition also lowers dependency on barcode or RFID tagging, easing adoption in legacy manufacturing and print sites with minimal IT upgrades.
