Randa Apparel & Accessories Chooses Fortna to Modernize Dallas-Fort Worth Warehouse

Randa Apparel & Accessories Chooses FORTNA for Dallas-Fort Worth Warehouse Modernization

FORTNA Solutions Enhance Randa Operations’ Productivity and Efficiency

MMH Staff Reported on October 8, 2024

Global leader in fashion apparel and lifestyle accessories, Randa Apparel & Accessories (RAA), announced today a strategic partnership with FORTNA, a company providing automation and software services across the entire logistics value chain, to modernize its newly acquired Dallas-Fort Worth warehouse spanning 625,000 square feet.

FORTNA stated that this collaboration aims to bring the facility up-to-date to meet current demands, enhancing operational efficiency and productivity. RAA is known for its portfolio of over 40 licensed brands and recently acquired the Haggar brand, including the Dallas-Fort Worth facility as part of the transaction. Faced with the choice between relocating or upgrading the facility, RAA partnered with FORTNA to develop an integrated solution that maintains local operations while addressing real estate constraints.

“Providing configurability is critical in today’s environment,” said Ron Egan, Vice President of North America at FORTNA. “Whether it’s a brownfield project or greenfield, FORTNA has the capability to support clients throughout their warehousing journey. In RAA’s case, we optimized the design of their current facility and provided a customized brownfield solution, showcasing FORTNA’s flexibility and commitment to meeting customer needs.”

FORTNA’s brownfield design includes automated material flow and sorting systems for inbound and outbound processes. The project will update nearly all material handling equipment over the next two years and implement the FORTNA Warehouse Control System (FORTNA WCS) solution.

FORTNA stated that the FORTNA WCS will assist RAA’s distribution process by providing a single control point within the warehouse with visualization capabilities. This centralized access point enables RAA teams to efficiently monitor and troubleshoot material handling equipment, ensuring smooth operations at their facilities.

“Automation is key to unlocking human potential,” Egan added. “By automating routine warehouse tasks, we can enhance RAA’s efficiency and labor effectiveness.”

FORTNA noted that the reliable and scalable architecture of FORTNA WCS is hardware-agnostic, offering RAA real-time control over its material handling equipment (MHE) systems. This flexibility ensures RAA can adjust and scale operations as needed without encountering compatibility issues.

FORTNA anticipates that through this collaboration, RAA will achieve a 25% labor savings and an increase in operational productivity, keeping the facility sustainable for foreseeable business growth.
