Nashville, Tennessee – A leading lithium-ion battery and power systems supplier unveiled new visibility-enhancing technology at the American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition.
Dragonfly Energy Holdings Corp. launched its IntelLigence technology on October 13th, specifically designed for the heavy-duty truck industry. This patent-pending smart battery technology is aimed at providing real-time monitoring and application connectivity to fleets and commercial vehicle operators. According to the company headquartered in Nevada, the technology is ideal for comprehensive battery life tracking, setting custom alerts, and accessing historical usage data.
The company states that this technology complements its award-winning Battle Born full-electric auxiliary power unit (APU). “The integration of our patented Dragonfly IntelLigence technology marks a significant advancement in our APU solutions,” said Wade Seaburg, Chief Revenue Officer at Dragonfly Energy, in an announcement on October 13th.
The Battle Born full-electric APU is designed to run the hotel load of sleeper trucks to minimize engine idling. It also powers liftgates. The technology is expected to be made available to owners/operators by year-end.
Seaburg added, “This upgrade provides drivers with complete visibility into their battery systems, so they can rest assured that the batteries won’t drain or restart the truck while trying to sleep. By prioritizing driver experience and efficiency, we are helping fleets reduce costs and enhance sustainability.”
In August of this year, the company announced a partnership with Highway Transport in Tennessee to begin integrating Battle Born full-electric APUs into their fleet. Highway Transport specializes in liquid chemical transportation.
“At Highway Transport, sustainability and driver well-being are top priorities. Dragonfly Energy’s solutions allow us to make significant strides on both fronts,” said Marshall Franklin, CEO and Chief Financial Officer of Highway Transport, in a statement provided by Dragonfly Energy. “The additional benefit of fuel cost savings further enhances the value proposition of this partnership.”
