Flexport takes fulfillment network international with Canada, UK expansion
Global fulfillment expansion
Flexport has launched its first international fulfillment hubs in Canada and the United Kingdom, marking the company’s first physical expansion of its end-to-end fulfillment network beyond the United States.
The company opened a 50,000-square-foot facility in Mississauga, Ontario, in August 2026, followed by a 40,000-square-foot hub in Coventry, England, which became operational in September 2026. Both locations offer warehousing, inventory management, pick-and-pack, kitting, returns processing, and cross-border customs brokerage services tailored for U.S.-based brands selling into those markets.
the new hubs enable customers to reduce average delivery times to Canadian consumers by 37% and to UK consumers by 28% compared to direct-from-U.S. shipping models.
Strategic integration and capability buildout
The Canada and UK facilities are fully integrated with Flexport’s proprietary Fulfillment Operating System (FOS), which synchronizes real-time inventory visibility, order routing, carrier selection, and duty calculation across geographies.
Each hub supports multi-channel retail fulfillment—including Amazon FBA, Walmart Marketplace, Shopify, and direct-to-consumer channels—and offers localized labeling, multilingual customer support, and VAT-compliant invoicing. The Coventry hub also includes dedicated cold-chain storage capacity for temperature-sensitive goods.
Flexport confirmed that the Mississauga hub serves as its North American customs entry point for goods moving under the USMCA agreement, while the Coventry hub is certified for UKCA marking and handles post-Brexit regulatory documentation for imports into Great Britain.
Leadership and roadmap
Will O’Donnell, head of Fulfillment at Flexport, stated: “Brands need speed, predictability, and control when scaling internationally — not just another warehouse. These hubs deliver localized execution backed by global data and compliance infrastructure.”
O’Donnell added that Flexport plans to open additional fulfillment centers in Q4 2026, with confirmed site selections underway in Germany and Japan. The company expects its global fulfillment footprint to reach 12 hubs by the end of 2027.
