According to hrtoday.in, Glencore has appointed Jean-Marc Ducharme as Regional Lead, Procurement & Supply Chain – North America, effective July 2026 in Laval, Quebec, Canada.
Strategic Leadership Expansion
The appointment strengthens Glencore’s leadership team as the company advances procurement excellence and supply chain resilience across its North American operations. Ducharme will lead regional procurement and supply chain strategy across Glencore’s complex, asset-intensive operations — spanning energy, metals, mining, agriculture, and technology sectors. His mandate includes driving operational excellence in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement operations, logistics, inventory management, supplier performance, and supply chain resilience — all while reinforcing supplier partnerships and enabling sustainable business growth.
Proven Track Record in Global Procurement
Ducharme brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across global procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain transformation, and operational excellence in manufacturing, aerospace, healthcare, technology, consulting, and industrial sectors. Prior to joining Glencore, he served as Senior Director – Global Procurement & Supply Management at CAE, where he led global procurement and supply chain organizations managing more than US$1 billion in addressable spend across complex international operations.
During his tenure at CAE, Ducharme transformed the global procurement organization through organizational redesign, digital enablement, capability building, and process optimization — delivering more than 20% in cost savings and cost avoidance despite significant inflationary pressures and global supply chain disruptions. Earlier, as Senior Director – Sourcing & Procurement at McKesson, he modernized sourcing operations, strengthened procurement governance, and supported enterprise-wide transformation initiatives in the healthcare sector.
Consistent Delivery Across Industries
Before McKesson, Ducharme was Head of Global Procurement at ALDO Group, where he established a world-class strategic sourcing organization, expanded procurement governance, increased spend under management to 85%, and delivered an average of 19% hard savings across multiple procurement categories over three years. He also spent more than eight years at CGI as Director – Global Procurement, leading the transformation of the company’s decentralized procurement organization into a globally integrated Source-to-Pay operating model spanning North America, Europe, Morocco, and India.
His earlier career included leadership and consulting roles with Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, McKesson Canada, Nortel Networks, National Bank of Canada, and CGI. Across his distinguished career, Ducharme has developed deep expertise in Strategic Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Global Sourcing, Category Management, Procurement Transformation, Supplier Relationship Management, Contract Management, Logistics, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Resilience, Digital Procurement, Source-to-Pay Transformation, Procurement Governance, Cost Optimization, Procurement Operations, Enterprise Transformation, Operational Excellence, Strategic Negotiations, and Global Procurement Leadership.
