As of Monday morning, October 7, 2024, striking workers can be seen at every Bigfoot location except Burns, supported by local Teamsters members. The main point of contention is the company's attempt to shift retirement benefits from a pension plan to a 401K plan, which has already impacted craft beer distribution. According to the Teamsters, Bigfoot has threatened striking workers with termination and permanent replacement if they continue their strike action. In terms of local grocery store shelves, they are currently being stocked by managers, office staff, and temporary replacements. The Teamsters point out that this has led to some issues. "They've already broken a cable and left the back door of trucks open when leaving the facility; they're damaging the company's reputation," said Chris Muhs, CEO of Teamsters Local 324. "And I receive photos from members daily showing major retailers like Safeway, Walmart, Fred Meyer, some large chains with empty shelves." As of Monday, the strike had entered its nineteenth day, and negotiations have not made any progress throughout this period.
