UP and NS Revised Merger Application Moves Ahead — Supply Chain Dive

By Thomas Wasson | 2026-05-28

The Surface Transportation Board is now considering the updated materials, and both parties are asked to submit supplemental information by July 27.

Refiled Application Under Review

Earlier this year, the agency rejected the application UP and NS initially filed on Dec. 19, 2025, citing the submission as incomplete because it missed “certain information required” by the board.

Stakeholder Comment Period Open

Stakeholders can submit comments on the completeness of the revised application until May 8, the STB announced. The board will seek comments on the merit of the merger at a later date if the revised application is accepted.
