Costco uses $184M tariff refunds to cut prices
Costco Wholesale received $184 million in tariff refunds—including $10 million in interest—in its fiscal fourth quarter ended Aug. 30, 2026. CEO Ron Vachris confirmed on Sept. 24 that the company predominantly used those funds to lower prices on produce, meat, beverages, and select home goods. CFO Gary Millerchip characterized the move as returning value to members, calling overall sales "robust" outside of gas. The earnings report was published Oct. 5, 2026.
