LG CNS, Kurly Ink Robotics Pact for Logistics Automation

Partnership Aims to Deploy Humanoid Robots in Logistics Centers

According to www.thelec.net, LG CNS and online grocery and e-commerce company Kurly signed a memorandum of understanding on May 18, 2026, to jointly test humanoid robots and validate LG CNS’s PhysicalWorks platform at Kurly’s fulfillment centers. The collaboration focuses on advancing smart logistics automation by identifying warehouse tasks where humanoid robots can reduce worker burden and improve operational safety. The companies plan to measure robot task accuracy, execution speed, and efficiency improvements compared to existing workflows.

Field Validation of PhysicalWorks Platform

The core of the partnership involves field validation of LG CNS’s robot training and operations platform, PhysicalWorks, at Kurly’s logistics centers. The companies will assess the platform’s field applicability in real-world conditions. According to the source, LG CNS will integrate Kurly’s automated warehouse equipment and logistics operating systems to enhance efficiency across the entire logistics process, from inbound handling and storage to picking and outbound shipping.

Previous Collaboration and Infrastructure Expertise

LG CNS has previously worked on construction projects for Kurly’s Gimpo integrated logistics center and Changwon logistics center. These projects involved developing expertise in operating ambient, refrigerated, and frozen environments within a single facility, as well as supporting Kurly’s overnight delivery service. The companies noted that Kurly has accumulated extensive logistics field data and has been improving operational efficiency through data and AI technologies.

The companies plan to jointly identify additional business opportunities based on successful deployment cases of humanoid robots in logistics centers, with a focus on advancing next-generation robot-based logistics intelligence systems.
