Ottobock, Celcius Launch 3,000 sq. ft. Prosthetics Warehouse in India

According to India Shipping News, Germany’s Ottobock has partnered with Celcius Logistics to launch a dedicated prosthetics warehouse and logistics distribution hub in India, operational as of May 8, 2026.

Facility Specifications and Capacity

The new facility spans 3,000 square feet and includes a 100 sq. ft. temperature-controlled zone for sensitive medical materials. It features 110 slotted angle racks with over 700 bin locations, enabling efficient storage and retrieval of high-value prosthetic components. The warehouse is designed to manage over 2,000 SKUs, supporting distribution to 24 clinics and more than 200 independent partners, including government-affiliated organizations.

Technology-Driven Operations

Celcius Logistics operates the facility using its in-house Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transport Management System (TMS). These systems handle inbound and outbound logistics, real-time inventory tracking, and nationwide distribution. The partnership includes a five-year contract and is exclusively dedicated to Ottobock India’s prosthetic supply chain. The facility supports ambient storage and controlled handling protocols to preserve product integrity, durability, and performance.

Strategic Objectives and Expansion Plans

The collaboration aims to reduce turnaround times and improve nationwide access to prosthetic and assistive devices. According to Swarup Bose, Founder & CEO of Celcius Logistics, “This partnership reflects how healthcare supply chains in India are evolving towards greater precision, reliability, and accountability.” The company plans to expand warehouse capacity by 25% within the next year, aligning with projected growth in demand and operational scale.

“For us, supply chain reliability is directly linked to patient outcomes. As we continue to expand our presence in India, having a partner like Celcius strengthens our ability to deliver critical prosthetic solutions with consistency and speed.” — Mats Frank, Head of Cluster Asia-South and Managing Director, Ottobock India

Environmental and Operational Commitments

Celcius Logistics will manage end-to-end operations, including transportation. The company emphasizes sustainability, noting that e-vehicles will be used for last-mile deliveries as part of its environmental commitment. This move supports Ottobock’s global standards for green logistics and reflects a growing trend in India’s healthcare supply chain to adopt low-emission delivery models.
