Mubadala acquires Arrive Logistics majority stake, targets 16,000 daily loads

Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Capital has acquired a majority stake in Austin, Texas-based Arrive Logistics, with the deal expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. Mubadala Capital, managing over $600 billion in assets, will become Arrive’s largest shareholder. Arrive currently handles more than 8,000 daily loads and ranks No. 7 among freight brokerages and No. 26 on Transport Topics’ Top 100 logistics companies in North America. Under the new ownership, Arrive aims to double its daily load volume to 16,000, expand its trailer pool, relaunch its Arrive Fresh perishables division — which serves over 3,000 cold-chain carriers — and build a dedicated sales team for small and medium-sized businesses.

Mubadala acquires Arrive Logistics majority stake, targets 16,000 daily loads

August 28, 2026 1:22 PM, EDT The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. The price tag was not disclosed.

Ownership and transaction timeline

Mubadala Capital will become Arrive Logistics’ largest shareholder in a deal expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. Mubadala Capital is a global alternative asset manager with more than $600 billion in assets. It is a subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Co., one of the sovereign wealth funds of the government of Abu Dhabi. Canada Cartage, which ranks No. 42 on TT’s Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America, is part of Mubadala’s existing portfolio.

The management team at Arrive, led by CEO and co-founder Matt Pyatt, will retain stakes in the business, as will existing investors, including private equity firms ATL Partners and Lead Edge Capital. Currently, Arrive brokers freight in the U.S., Canada and Mexico for more than 5,500 customers, including Fortune 500 brands, and works with a network of more than 10,000 core carriers.

With the deep pockets of Mubadala Capital behind Arrive, the company said Aug. 27 it expects accelerated growth across three fronts: expanded service, hiring new staff and technology innovation. At present, the company has more than 2,000 employees and has focused on truckload brokerage.

Market position and growth targets

Austin, Texas-based Arrive ranks No. 26 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest logistics companies in North America. It ranks No. 7 among freight brokerages. Arrive handles more than 8,000 daily loads through 2,000-plus employees and 10,000 core carriers.

In a blog released the same day as the announcement, Matt Pyatt said Mubadala’s backing would allow Arrive to target doubling the company’s current 8,000 or more loads and put the top of the freight brokerage leaderboard in its sights. The largest three freight brokerages in North America are C.H. Robinson, Total Quality Logistics and J.B. Hunt Transport Services, data.

“This transaction positions Arrive to continue building on our unprecedented growth,” Matt Pyatt said in comments accompanying the announcement. “Our business is driven by our talented team, sales culture, deep customer and carrier relationships, relentless focus on service and a technology platform that gives us a structural cost advantage.”

Strategic expansion priorities

Arrive plans to expand services, hiring and technology while relaunching Arrive Fresh, growing its trailer pool and targeting small and medium-size businesses. The Arrive Fresh unit at present works with more than 3,000 cold-chain carriers. Arrive’s sharpened focus on the perishable goods freight market and SMBs echoes ambitions in the higher-margin segments expressed in recent months by a number of industry players, including FedEx Freight and TFI International.

FedEx Freight and TFI International rank No. 4 and No. 6 on the TT for-hire Top 100, respectively, as well as No. 1 and No. 8 among less-than-truckload carriers. The technology strategy is centered on ARRIVEnow, the company’s proprietary transportation management system.
